ROLE NOW FILLED

Senior Data Analyst

You will have great impact on the way NN collects and registers ESG data, with the challenge to identify relevant data. Your contribution to the new data platform is of great value to us.

Your impact as Senior Data Analyst at NNIP

The organisation truly understands the huge amount of ESG data, because of your smart approach in identifying all data sources in this space. The business sees direct impact of its own performance and the performance of its funds. This provides clear insights that can be shared with clients.

You will take responsibility for managing NN’s master data set, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues. To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases.

NN IP is determined to use data science, Machine Learning and AI to boost investment performance or provide their portfolio managers with key insights that set them apart in a competitive market. As they are a responsible investor, they also use data to make sure their products are in line with their core beliefs and they believe that data drives customer experience overall.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion
  • Enabling data vendor management on new data contracts
  • Managing users and user roles
  • Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary
  • Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets
  • Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines
  • Helping develop reports and analysis
  • Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
  • Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements
  • Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalisation
  • Assessing tests and implementing new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems
  • Generating reports from single or multiple systems
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports
  • Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems
  • Training end-users on new reports and dashboards
  • Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

Who you are

Your strong market focus and leadership qualities give you a certain authority. Thanks to your expertise and experience you are able to disseminate a message to others. Your enthusiasm is highly infectious and makes you a perfect coach for the team. You actively search for challenges so you can find solutions for them. Your great sense of ownership is inspirational for others around you. Furthermore, you have:

  • At least 5 years’ of experience as a data analyst or in a related field
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks
  • Ability to analyse existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations
  • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms
  • High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
  • Understanding of addressing and metadata standards
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Worked with (many) different database technologies; both SQL and NO-SQL.

Your colleagues

At NNIP you will be joining one of their chapters, which groups professionals with similar capabilities and facilitates the exchange of knowledge and innovation across the organisation. You will report directly to the chapter lead. Where the nature of a chapter is more that of a community, the scrum team you will join, is where you fulfil your day-to-day responsibilities. Because of the many exciting projects to work on, the teams you participate in will change from time to time.

Continue developing

It is important to NN that you continue to develop yourself. They give you the space and the confidence to grow in your career as well as a person. They will help you with:

  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities in their Learning & Development Centre
  • A large (international) network of colleagues who are keen to share their knowledge with you
  • The autonomy to set out your own development path

About NN

NN Investment Partners help people care for what matters most to them. The world in which we live may change, but what really matters to people remains the same. Family, friends, love, health, home and of course work. You will help to make their services more personal and relevant.

Employee benefits

You are more than a colleague and they understand that very well at NN. You have different roles in life and that involves choices. NN gives you the opportunity to select the employee benefits that are important to you and that match your personal situation. This includes buying additional leave, flexible working hours or working four nine-hour days. Your holiday allowance and 13th month are paid with your salary monthly, so there is no need to wait. They will give you a NS Business Card season ticket, so as well as travelling to work quickly and easily, you can also travel unrestricted throughout the Netherlands, seven days a week.

Because of coronavirus, all NN colleagues are currently working from home fully digitally. It is not yet clear when they can return to the office, but the official location for this job is The Hague.

As Senior Data Analyst, you normally are based in our fantastic office in The Hague. The office is located next to the A12, but is also easily accessible by public transport as well. To stay fit, you can also join weekly, 20-minute, intensive personal training sessions in our Fit20 studio. We make a contribution towards the cost. If you prefer the fresh air, you can take the tram or bike and you will be at the beach in half an hour.
