Venquis are currently partnered with a leading management consultancy who are looking to hire a MariaDB Database Administrator on a full time, permanent basis. This rare opportunity offers you the chance to join an industry leader and globally recognised name.
As a Database Administrator you will be expected to be comfartble with the following responsibilities:
- Support and manage several hundred MariaDB databases across various environments
- Provide customer support and ensure their expectations are met
- Lead and manage the MariaDB support team
- Handle MariaDB support, patching, upgrades, migration, and kernel patching
- Ensure PCI compliance and remediate vulnerabilities
- Architect and develop an efficient automation framework for managing MariaDB infra on RedHat Linux Systems
- Develop enterprise-grade distributed products that perform, scale, and integrate into an enterprise ecosystem
- Follow industry best practices for time-to-market using CI/CD technologies
- Follow change management process and efficiently handle Priority Sev1 PRD issues
- Manage 24/7 on-call loops
In order to be succesful, it would be highly desired to have the following background:
- 4+ years of experience as a MariaDB DBA, preferably on Linux platform
- Hands-on DevOps experience with Python and Ansible
- Knowledge of release management processes and tools like Git
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or master’s degree in Computer Applications
- Strong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
