Position Overview:
My Client are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join their team. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects that are critical to the functioning of government operations. This role demands a deep understanding of IT systems, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with various government stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate and oversee IT project activities to ensure adherence to established plans.
- Manage project resources, including IT personnel, equipment, and budgets.
- Monitor project progress and take corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including government agencies, departments, and IT teams.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, milestones, and potential risks.
- Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional IT teams and government departments to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all IT projects adhere to government regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals and clearances.
- Stay updated on evolving government IT policies and compliance guidelines.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess IT project risks, and develop mitigation plans to address potential issues.
- Implement risk management strategies to minimize disruptions and delays in IT projects.
- Quality Assurance:
- Uphold high standards of quality in IT project deliverables.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that IT project outcomes meet or exceed government expectations.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Monitor IT project expenditures and manage costs within allocated budgets.
- Prepare and present financial reports to government officials and stakeholders to maintain financial transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Computer Science, Project Management).
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, preferably in the public sector.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of government IT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and IT systems.
