ROLE NOW FILLED

The team

FMO Investment Management B.V. offers professional investors access to FMO’s expertise in sustainable investing in emerging and developing markets. Its offering builds on FMO’s 50+ years of  experience, resulting in an EUR 12.5 billion portfolio spread across over 85 countries.

FMO aims to scale up impact investing by providing investors access to FMO’s deal flow in sustainable emerging markets investments. They do this by matching investor appetite with FMO’s experience in selected sectors, products and regions for attractive financial return and meaningful development impact, proving that impact and return can go hand-in-hand.

The new in-house development of custom-built business applications is an important pillar of FMO digitalization strategy. To make sure that this capability is well assured a new organisation unit (Development) is established that will become FMO’s center of excellence for: Low code development, event driven architecture, and cloud computing. Basically, all the cool stuff!

To source this unit, FMO is searching for full stack system developers. The development stack that FMO uses consists of:

 Required:

  • Mendix – Low code development.

Desirable:

  • Figma: User interaction design
  • Camunda: Event driven Business Process Management platform
  • Azure: XaaS cloud platform.

DevOps, Agile and Design Thinking are the leading patterns for the way that the new unit works. And in that spirit, FMO is looking for T-shaped full stack developers: developers with understanding of how each of the stack component interacts to construct a business application while also being specialized in one or more components.

As the compiled development stack is potentially unique, they don’t expect candidates to be experts on the full development stack on day 1. However, they do expect candidates to be willing to invest in the knowledge build up of the development stack.

This is a great opportunity if you want to contribute to development impact and combine this with leading edge technology.

Your role

In your role as full stack developer, you will:

  • Design, build, test and maintain applications built with the development stack
  • Participate in projects: initiation, problem analysis, estimation, planning phases
  • Act as the go-to person for product owners, business analysts and architects regarding custom developed applications
  • Work closely together with architects in various improvements activities to keep the (re)usability and efficiency of the development stack on the highest level
  • Accompany external development staff and review development deliverables of projects
  • Collaborate with other teams within the ICT department to align requirements and solutions.
