Demonstrating our ability to match the right candidate to the right role

One of Europe’s leading asset managers had significant plans to grow their IT department, which included some ambitious plans to create a bigger function for testing.

Key to this growth plan was the appointment of a test analyst. At the start of his search, the Head of QA had a very specific set of criteria.  As a result, neither Venquis, nor any of his other preferred suppliers were able to source a candidate who met every one of the stringent requirements and the position remained unfilled for months. Eventually, the situation became business critical.

A number of the CVs we had submitted, that had not been selected to progress to interview stage were, in our opinion, very well suited to the role. We were confident these candidates were fundamentally right for the job, and could learn certain aspects of the role once they were on board. With this in mind, we met with the Head of QA to determine what he would be willing to compromise on in order to widen the net. Armed with this information, we were able to put forward a suitable candidate, who was interviewed, offered the role, and subsequently accepted.
