Terminal IT Project/Transition Manager


This is an IT transformation journey to simplify, standardise and centralize the technology landscape. The objective is to create the foundation from which it can drive the digitization agenda of the newly formed cluster of Transport & Logistics brands. The first step in the IT Strategy is to put in place a core IT team that can deliver standard IT services.

A vacancy exists for a Terminal IT Project/Transition Manager

Purpose:
Responsible for managing the transition of IT services at many Terminals to operate effectively and efficiently in conjunction with the IT Service Model. Transitions will include people, organisation and process related changes together with associated IT tooling and essential IT infrastructure changes required to enable a successful transition including connectivity and security improvements. Ensures that disruption to IT services in Terminals is minimised and that Terminal and the company IT are set up for success by communicating and preparing the organisation for change and co-ordinating the activities across all related stakeholders and across many IT delivery and service teams.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Developing and managing an integrated transition plan for each terminal including the teams, stakeholders and activities
  • Manages the transition across projects, functions, teams, suppliers and terminals to identify and proactively manage risks, issues, constraints, conflicts and dependencies in the transition
  • Ensuring that the Terminals are prepared and ready to accept changes to their IT operating model and IT infrastructure components where necessary to support the transition
  • Proactively working with the company's IT service organisation and the Terminal IT organisation to propose solutions that will align IT services and improve them over time for the benefit of the Terminals and the company
  • Introducing, coaching and guiding IT resources on service improvements in terminals including proactive system monitoring to ensure availability, incident and problem management, change and configuration management and IT tooling such as ServiceNow
  • Communicating the transition approach and plan and what the change will mean for stakeholders including key updates around specific service transition activities
  • Proactively planning and managing stakeholder relationships to minimise negative impact on Terminal operations
  • Defining the critical measures and management actions to assess the progress of transition activities and to support to the Go/No Go decision for transition into the company's IT Service Management business as usual
  • Ensuring that training and competency development needs of local IT resources are identified and planned for (process, tool and change)
  • Proactively reporting progress, due/upcoming decisions, risks, concerns and help required as defined within the programme/project governance
  • Working with Business Change leads to support the Terminal organisation through the transition including temperature checks and organisational readiness
  • Drafting and revising the playbook to include lessons learned on the terminal transition to improve the speed and outcomes for future terminal transitions


SKILLS/EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related experience/certifications.
  • Experience in Business & IT Transition & Transformation
  • Advanced knowledge of transitioning IT services e.g. from one supplier to another
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management
  • Advanced knowledge of IT service management processes
  • ITIL manager certification - advantageous
  • Strong understanding on Infrastructure/Network & Applications
  • Strong knowledge on Technology refresh
  • Experienced in Data migrations & Vendor transitions
  • Good understanding & experience on Procurement & IT consolidation
  • Ability to work in Greenfield transformations
  • Experienced in delivering Governance models
  • Medium knowledge of people and organisational change
  • Advanced knowledge of Information Services functions
  • Medium knowledge of Shared Services - advantageous
  • Knowledge of service delivery & service transition
