One of the London Insurance markets largest underwriters are looking for a Technical Analyst to join their IT function at their new centre based in Kent, and be responsible for the smooth transition to a new underwriting system. Working alongside the Business Analyst, the role will require someone who is very technical minded with a strong understanding of applications, has previous experience of working on similar projects, and be able to configure new products onto the new system.
You will be required to learn how the new platform runs, before configuring new products onto it. The role supports the Change & Integration team, providing the capability to successfully mobilise and deliver change management activities (projects) across the division, and forms an important part of the business strategy going forward. The role supports the delivery of maximum value for business areas adapting transformational change needs, creating a centre of excellence embedded in best practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge of the BABOK guide - modeling: process, data, systems (UML, BPMN) essential
- Proficient knowledge of Visio and MS Project or other Project software essential
- Knowledge of Scrum and/or XP, Lean and Kanban Software Development desirable
- Good knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd's and Industry) products, services, and good understanding of underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity
