Job Description

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

The role involves planning and managing the delivery of one or more discrete projects, on a day to day basis, establishing the project structure, roles and teams; developing and maintaining plans; identifying and managing risks; and monitoring and reporting progress, tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring project documentation complies with the Change Methodology Framework
  • Manage the inception and initiation of change projects, defining project approach, resource requirements and estimating project delivery
  • Planning, managing, monitoring and reporting of project(s) to deliver the outputs to the agreed timescale, quality and cost criteria
  • Managing and documenting project risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits to enable the achievement of project objectives.
  • Produce regular progress reporting as required by the PMO
  • Produce RAID and mitigation management,
  • Responsible for the delivery of projects on time and within budget, and managing the quality of deliverables to defined and agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Defining and establishing the project structure, roles and teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable the achievement of project objectives
  • Assist colleagues/Senior Project Managers/ Programme Manager in change activities as part of the wider programme of a portfolio of projects
  • Actively keep abreast of industry practices contributing to creating a high performing centre of excellence for the Change Delivery initiatives
  • Manage sensitive information and data carefully mitigating risks/issues where possible
  • Comply with the Companies Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Managing Client information, Whistle Blowing, Treating Customers Fairly

Person Specification:

  • Project Management PMP or Prince 2 certification desirable

Technical Knowledge

  • Proficient knowledge of Visio and MS Project or other Project software
  • Understanding of business improvement methodologies
  • Good knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd's and Industry) products, services, and good understanding of underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity


  • Demonstrable full life cycle project manager experience, along with experience of leading complex, medium
  • Confidently manages and sustains a key relationship network within a project environment
  • An ability to extract and piece together required learning from a range of different opportunities and sources


  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the Company, including senior level management
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate persuade and influence business decisions at a senior management level
  • Ability to respond confidently to conflicts and manage situations positively, proactively escalating on-going issues
  • Sets priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track
  • Time management and deadline driven
  • High level of discretion and empathy
  • MS office expertise
