Job Description

Digital Advisor / Digital Consultant / Digital Director is required by a prestigious Private Equity firm to help target organisations increase shareholder value. The successful candidate will be joining a team that helps businesses outperform competitors and increase shareholder value. Its purpose is to advise firms on different parts of their business to help increase profitability through driving efficiencies and best practice.

You would be required to:

  • Lead the Digital competency within the team
  • Work with case officers to lead businesses through the first 100 days post-completion
  • Support management teams to deliver specific value creation projects and develop value creation plans
  • Carry out Digital due diligence pre-deal
  • Be a brand ambassador for the team across regional offices and within portfolio companies

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work with management teams and their organisations to:
    • Evaluate digital capabilities within portfolio companies and identify specific opportunities to improve digital capabilities that will drive demonstrable SHV improvement, including:
      • Digital Channels - Identification and assessment of the use of appropriate digital channels within the businesses and how they might be improved or better leveraged to drive awareness, traffic and interest to the firms' Portfolio Companies
      • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Pay Per Click (PPC) and similar digital marketing techniques in order to identify opportunities for portfolio businesses to optimise their digital marketing spend
      • Digital Brand and Tone Of Voice- e.g. stakeholder perception of brand identity, products and services, ability to adapt brand identity, products and services to meet changing needs of target demographic and identify if their target demographic has changed. Ensuring the frirm's portfolio companies have a consistent tone of voice across digital and non-digital channels
      • Mobile - e.g. assessing the opportunity to use mobile technology to provide a fluid experience for customers & colleagues to send and receive data any time, any place and on any device
      • Analytics - e.g. use of structured and unstructured data analytics in a timely usable manner
      • Cloud - e.g. ability to leverage cost effective, rapid and scalable IT service provisions
    • Knowledge of the digital project life cycle and development processes
    • Assist in the definition of project deliverables and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    • Experience working with designers, developers and testers in cross functional teams
    • Ability to write and collaboratively estimate stories, technical specs and project plans
    • Experience facilitating projects in mobile and/or apps, user interface and UX
  • Work pre-deal with Deal Teams to carry out Digital due diligence and report back on risks, opportunities and implementation plan
  • Work with Case Officers across the region to identify and prioritise Digital opportunities within the portfolio
  • Carry out 100 day plans, build value creation plans and support specific projects in portfolio companies
  • Develop best practice for Digital competency and build a bank of trusted advisors and external partners to support the team.

Relevant Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years (ideally 10 years) experience
  • Led a business through a change process
  • Developed and implemented Digital strategy
  • Written white papers and articles on Digital
  • PE experience preferable
  • Degree in computer science or engineering
  • Recent experience in project management in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development
  • Practical use of agile software development techniques and best practice (e.g. Jira, SCRUM)
    Statistical evidence and analytical ability
  • Familiarity with search engine optimisation, content management, website redesign, and social media presence
    Has an extensive freelance network /good access to "digital nomads"
