Job Description

CTO / Head of Technology - Public Communications and Consulting firm. IT Strategy, scalable growth. Ability to acquire new businesses. CRM / ERP Implementions.

  • Work with the CEO and CFO to establish a technological vision for the business;
  • Lead the company's technological development, overseeing all technical aspects and technological resources of the business, with a view to achieving the IT goals; and
  • Work with the IT team to formulate career development plans.

The firm is a communications company with 250 employees globally. They are a specialist business who encourages independent thinking from its employees as well as embracing innovation and creativity. The firm is on a growth Trajectory to grow to over 500 Employees with the help of recently acquired funding. It has multiple offices in the UK, Switzerland and the US.

You will be responsible for:

  • Making presentations to the Board of directors on IT progress in accordance with the agreed IT goals;
  • Implement a robust disaster recovery plan;
  • Create and oversee IT budgets to make sure all requirements are planned for and that there are no unnecessary expenditures;
  • Develop and direct all networking safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches and protect sensitive internal and external client information;
  • Evaluate new technology and make recommendations on technological solutions;
  • Work with other departments to use new technologies to streamline company policies and rules;
  • Conduct research to improve the technological assets of the company;
  • Develop and implement all internal communication systems, such as email and instant messaging;
  • Plan and implement proper Internet usage policies for employees;
  • Use technological assets to help ease use for employees and clients;
  • Consistently evaluate technical efficiency and make changes as necessary;
  • Identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the company;
  • Leading and develop our existing team of (NUMBER) and continue to develop an efficient, expert and customer-focused IT team
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies and software development best practices
  • Ensure the technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organisation

Relevant Experience

  • University degree in the field of computer science, business, or another suitably rigorous discipline. Preferably also an advanced degree in one these fields;
  • Extensive software engineering and IT experience;
  • Experience implementing and/or upgrading a business to a new CRM/ERP system;
  • Proven track record of success in leadership positions;
  • Familiarity with marketing platforms, programs and policies; and
  • Has experience of a multi-site environment
