Job Description

Role

The right Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing the processes of the business, recognising and documenting changes and improvements, and converting them into business designs and deliverable change objectives.

The key responsibilities will be:

  • Document and analyse business process requirements (current and future state)
  • Recognise opportunities for business improvements across a broad operational front and demonstrate the ability to take action and exploit such opportunities
  • Record any system issues or change recommendations for acceptance by the business and escalation to appropriate change agents
  • Record any process, operational or organisational change recommendations
  • Present & validate with the business the recommended process improvements
  • Develop wireframes or proof of concepts where necessary
  • Help the business to articulate what the successful design will do and what it will achieve
  • Assist in the development of Organisation Change (People, Process & Systems) from Target Operational Models
  • Take agreed process changes forward and help develop implementation approach, test approach, including documentation. Monitor changes against quality criteria. This may include business acceptance testing and the Model Office
  • Work alongside the business and other change agents to implement the recommended process improvements
  • Provide business with effective support and advice/expertise in relation to operational changes to be used/implemented, including updated procedures and User Guides
  • Maintain quality of design and deliverables whilst adhering to budget and time constraints
  • Maintain data quality, and improve where possible, through the introduction and/or maintenance of quality management procedures in the business

Other Areas

  • Become familiar with and apply LEAN Six Sigma methodologies
  • Become familiar with and apply the principles of Business Process Management notation and BPM modelling tool as implemented
  • Develop the capability to analyse existing maps, data and statistics
  • Provide reports on solutions & recommendations to improve the processes
  • Apply process improvement to support recommendations
  • Make recommendations to the wider teams based on own analysis
  • Ability to support the development of Business Cases with agreed benefits and costs

Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Process Re-engineering, Process Improvement and process mapping is required
  • Knowledge of Insurance is required
  • High level of problem solving, analytical & numerical skills
