Applications Integration Lead

This is an IT transformation journey to simplify, standardise and centralize the technology landscape. The objective is to create the foundation from which it can drive the digitization agenda of the newly formed cluster of Transport & Logistics brands. The first step in the IT Strategy is to put in place a core IT team that can deliver standard IT services.

A vacancy exists for an Applications Integration Lead

Responsible for planning and directing staff and suppliers in the support, development and efficient operation of application service.

Ensures that application integrations are proactively planned and managed to ensure ongoing service performance, availability and continuity.

Identifies opportunities and creates a compelling case with business users and application services to rationalise applications used sporadically with standard applications used globally.

Identifies service improvement opportunities with applications nearing the sunset of supportability or services that are not economical to support and creates a compelling financial or business service case for change.

Responsible for developing, specifying and maintaining application integration frameworks, methods and tools to protect application service availability and reduce system complexity and support costs.

Will plan, manage and support the tuning of application and integration components to ensure service performance.

This role requires international travel.

  • Coordinates and manages resources to diagnose and resolve complex system, application software, integration, security, and other related problems that impact system availability and performance.
  • Develops and monitors the goals and objectives for staff and contractors which are consistent with the overall strategy of the organization.
  • Identifies solutions to minimize service operating costs for example by reducing the need for bespoke system integrations, introducing proactive service monitoring, administrative process refinements and improved utilization of IT assets and resources
  • Utilize and promote good project management principles within the Data Services Team to ensure effective monitoring and development of systems within agreed scope, budget, objectives, schedules, and available resources.
  • Ensures compliance of application integration services with global IT policies and standards
  • Ensures the use of frameworks and models for data integration to avoid the cost and complexity of bespoke solutions
  • Plan and introduce improvements to the application integrations and integration platforms
  • Work closely with Service delivery to ensure that new services are designed and constructed to fully consider application integration, including service monitoring, system administration and management
  • Manage and negotiate vendor software contracts and license agreements for integration services software and support.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related experience/certifications.
  • Experienced in an Application Management and Service Leadership role
  • Experience leading a team to deliver increasing business value
  • Advanced knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management - essential
  • Extensive knowledge of container terminal applications software including Terminal Operating Systems and associated integrations - essential
  • Advanced knowledge of container terminal business operations - advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of data integration solutions - essential
  • Advanced knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management - advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of Data service monitoring and administration - essential
  • Advanced knowledge of Information Services functions - essential
  • Medium knowledge of shared service operations - advantageous
  • ITIL foundation certified - advantageousStrong
  • Strong interpersonal skills/personal impact
  • Solves challenges based on accurate identification of underlying factors/causes and is aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside their own immediate area
