A global retailer is currently looking or an Omni-Channel Programme Manager to join the team and work on a huge platform implementation programme. We are looking for someone with good omni-channel experience who has worked across both digital and ecommerce platforms in an agile environment.

The Omni-Channel Programme Manager defines, manages and delivers one or more customer-sponsored, cross-functional Programmes to agreed time, cost, quality, risk and benefits specifications.

The Omni-Channel Programme Manager's prime responsibility is to ensure that the Programme delivers the business benefit through alignment to the business objectives.

The Omni-Channel Programme Manager is one of the primary points of contact between IT and the Business and will lead cross-functional delivery teams to achieve business benefits.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains close working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers in order to better understand conflicting business requirements where they arise and be part of the team to prioritise and control the outputs to the overall benefit of the business.
  • Develops and maintains relationships across IT and wider business community
  • Establishes and manages an effective stakeholder management and communications strategy
  • Develops and maintains relationships at appropriate level
  • Develops and maintains relationships at senior level with external suppliers, in support of Project Managers
  • Develops and maintains relationships with the Programme's functional team members
  • Acts as an ambassador for IT within the broader business communities
  • Leads, manages and develops the functional Programme team to meet the requirements of the business and performance standards
  • Defines the strategic direction for the Programme
  • Encourages a culture of continuous improvement and best practice to achieve operational effectiveness across the Programme
  • Sets clear objectives and deliverables to ensure that Programme's functional team perform against defined requirements
  • Motivates and develops the team through delegating tasks according to team strengths and interests
  • Manages change and transition effectively to minimise the disruption to project delivery and people
  • Works with the appropriate stakeholders to define and agree the vision, requirements, scope, objectives and desired benefits of the Programme
  • Defines and executes Programme and Project governance to ensure the Programme and associated Projects are aligned coherently with each other and comply with current governance standards
  • Plans, monitors and controls the overall output of the Programme and Projects within his/her area to ensure that these deliver the required products, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost
  • Monitors and controls the overall output of the Programme and projects within his/her area to ensure that these deliver the business benefits defined in the business case
  • Resolves issues and initiates corrective actions
  • Reports to the appropriate governance bodies as required with the Programme on status, plans, costs, dependencies, issues and risks
  • Deploys best practice across projects and aligns with current standards and initiatives
  • Manages closure of the Programme and projects back into business as usual

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A professional business planning/management, programme planning qualification or equivalent
  • Omni-Channel project/programme management experience
  • Web application, digital, ecommerce experience
  • Agile methodology
  • Professional Qualification (degree or significant industry experience)
  • Significant project and programme management experience
  • Proven operational or line management experience in a senior position
  • Understanding and experience of more than one project management methodology
  • Excellent inter-personal and communications skills
  • Extensive network and supplier base
  • Good facilitation skills - able to run workshops and external project meetings
  • Substantial experience in influencing at Board level
  • Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge from outside own area of expertise
  • A solid understanding of Programme Accounting including budget analysis and forecasting
