This client is a fast growing media company and is to be predicted to be bigger then Facebook, Google and Amazon. This is an exciting opportunity for a Java developer at any level to work with Scala, Big Data and Hadoop. For us a software engineer is an accomplished technical leader, proactive customer-focused advocate, a team player with substantial software engineering experience, preferably with some experience within the healthcare industry. The candidate must have hands-on experience with enterprise level software development, integration and implementation of SOA/Microservice architecture. The ideal candidate will have a good foundation of the Java, JEE platform, Microservice Architecture, REST, Angular, Typescript, Web Content Accessibility/USDS, UX, and SQL/data modelling.

  • Experience with Java and J2EE/Java EE (including servlets, JSP, JSF, JDBC)
  • Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot
  • Experience building REST and SOAP web services using Java, Micro Services
  • Experience with Web Services(JSON, REST, JAX-RS, Spring based REST services)
  • Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread safe code
  • Experience with messaging products like RabbitMQ, Kafka or ActiveMQ
  • Experience in Scala, Big Data and Hadoop is useful but not required (we will train you in this)
  • Experience with development tools like Eclipse, Git, Gradle, Sonar, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory etc
  • Experience with web application servers like Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss etc
  • Experience with TDD, code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito
  • Strong understanding of OOP & SOA principles, design patterns, industry best practices
  • Agile project experience a plus
  • Experience with scripting and working in a Linux environment
  • Experience working on large and medium scale software projects
  • Experience building distributed systems at Internet scale
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CICD model of development
