Regional Security Officer – Nordics
A multinational organisation is seeking a Regional Security Officer to play a key role in safeguarding its digital infrastructure across the Nordic region. This position is responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of strong, compliant security practices that align with global standards. The role blends regional execution with strategic alignment to global cybersecurity policies and involves close collaboration to reduce cyber risks across the Nordic, Baltic, and Polish operations.
The successful candidate will drive enhancements to the organisation’s IT security posture, ensuring resilience against ever-evolving threats and leading the regional rollout of global security initiatives. This role operates within an international, multicultural setting where English is the primary working language.
As part of a hands-on, globally oriented security team, the Regional Security Officer will serve as a trusted advisor, fostering a culture of security awareness and aligning practices with the organisation’s risk tolerance.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Operations

Implement, maintain, and audit information security policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with global security frameworks, coordinating with local business units.

Lead security awareness programmes and foster behavioural change within the organisation.

Manage and respond to security events using established tools and services (e.g., SOC).

Conduct internal audits and security risk assessments.
Project Leadership & Collaboration

Support and contribute to global and regional security and compliance projects.

Monitor cyber threats and escalate incidents as needed.

Assist in business continuity planning and disaster recovery efforts.

Ensure cross-functional integration of security disciplines (e.g., privacy, physical security, IT continuity).
Communication & Reporting

Provide regular updates to regional leadership and the global CISO on security posture, incidents, and progress.

Coordinate regional security activities, ensuring high-quality and consistent execution.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.

3 to 5+ years of experience in information security roles, preferably within international and decentralised organisations.

Demonstrated experience in implementing security awareness initiatives and managing SOC/SIEM services.

Familiarity with Microsoft-based security environments and tooling.

Relevant certifications are highly desirable, such as:

CISSP, CISM, CISA, or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer.

Microsoft Security certifications (e.g., SC-200, AZ-500) are considered a strong advantage.
