Head of IT

Our client, a distinguished financial services specialist, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT. In this pivotal position, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and operation of various applications and services within the unit, ensuring compliance with both contractual and internal guidelines, and maintaining high standards of performance in IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing strategies for the assigned domain, aligning them with the overarching IT strategy and incorporating emerging IT technologies and trends.
  • Assuming ownership of application management, including the management of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
  • Ensuring stable operational management and efficient control of applications and services under the unit’s purview.
  • Overseeing external IT service providers and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Crafting technical concepts to guide the implementation and improvement of IT solutions.
  • Engaging in personnel and budget planning for the unit’s responsibilities.
  • Managing a team of direct reports, including executives, and serving as a role model for leadership.
  • Setting, monitoring, and achieving goals, while efficiently managing resources for day-to-day operations.
  • Implementing continuous improvements to enhance the unit’s performance.
  • Collaborating cross-departmentally and across functions to achieve cohesive outcomes.
  • Representing the organization externally, particularly towards clients and suppliers, as a representative of our client.

Professional Experience:

  • A completed degree in computer science or equivalent training coupled with a strong proficiency in IT.
  • A track record of managing and advancing complex IT landscapes and business applications.
  • Experience in coordinating, organizing, and executing IT projects.
  • Proficiency in conducting IT-related tenders.
  • Familiarity with pertinent methods and tools in project management, process management, quality management, software and application development, as well as IT security and data protection.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the industry landscape, encompassing market trends, competitors, customers, and suppliers.
  • Several years of hands-on experience in personnel management, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and successful implementation of DevOps methodologies.
