Data Business Analyst Contract Opportunity - Initial six months


My client are looking for a Business Analyst to join the Data Management Office team to define and implement the operating models for their data delivery to strategic data consumers. This role is responsible for eliciting the business requirements, defining the detailed operational models and specifying solution requirements, working closely with the global DMO team, stakeholders and other project resources. The ideal candidate will have worked with a buy-side data function before as well as possessing stakeholder engagement skills and project delivery experience.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/responsibilities:

  • Delivery of detailed to-be operating model process flows and activity diagrams
  • Help embedding the op model into BAU and track any associated changes required
  • Drive and manage agreement of business requirements and technical requirements with the relevant business and technology teams
  • Work with the global business teams to drive and define the rules set required to support the solution design
  • Validate resource requirements and the impact of the agreed operating model
  • Support creation of test plans/scripts to support the implementation of the op model
  • Ensure traceability from project objectives to delivered change
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for analysis and project delivery
  • Escalate risks and issues to project manager in a timely manner


  • Extensive experience in Financial Services, especially Investment Management
  • Structured approach to analysis and documentation
  • Experience of requirements gathering and operating model definition
  • Experience of Data Management in a buy side firm ideally in a global environment
  • Experience in working with data from different data sets, e.g Instrument, Pricing, Positions
  • Experience of Agile/iterative delivery
  • Experience with any EDM solutions
  • Experience of full project lifecycle
  • Sound understanding of IT software and infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Extremely organised with strong time-management skills

This will be an initial six month contract. Please note the ideal candidate must have experience of the Buy Side.
