Job Summary:
As the Chief Data Officer (CDO) you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and implementation of data-related initiatives, transforming raw data into actionable insights, and fostering a data-driven culture within the organisation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and stakeholders to enhance decision-making processes, optimise business performance, and ensure data integrity and security.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement Data Strategy: Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the business objectives, ensuring that data initiatives support innovation, growth, and competitive advantage.
• Data Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce data governance policies, data quality standards, and compliance frameworks to safeguard data integrity, privacy, and security.
• Data Analytics and Insights: Lead the development of data analytics capabilities to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, empowering informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Data Infrastructure and Architecture: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and robust data infrastructure and architecture to support data storage, processing, and analysis.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with data scientists, data engineers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and alignment of data initiatives with business goals.
• Innovation and Technology Adoption: Stay abreast of emerging data technologies, trends, and industry best practices, providing strategic guidance on the adoption of cutting-edge tools and solutions.
• Data-Driven Culture: Champion a data-driven mindset across the organization, promoting data literacy, data-driven decision-making, and data awareness at all levels.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior executives, board members, and other stakeholders, effectively communicating the value of data initiatives and driving consensus on data-related strategies.

Qualifications:

• Proven Experience: Extensive experience (at least 10 years) in leading data-focused initiatives, preferably within the manufacturing or related industries, with a track record of successfully implementing data strategies that drive business growth.
• Educational Background: A master’s or doctoral degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or business-related qualification would be advantageous.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in data management, data analytics, business intelligence tools, and data governance. Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud-based solutions, and data security protocols.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strategic Vision: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to envision and execute a data-driven transformation that aligns with business objectives.
• Communication and Influencing: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of the manufacturing industry and its unique data challenges, with the ability to translate data insights into tangible business outcomes.
