Charlie Reynolds, Programme ManagerSouthwark Council
Venquis took the time to understand our complex needs and therefore were able to very quickly source a high-quality candidate.
Jack Perschke, Divisional Head of GovernmentATOS
ATOS has been recruiting Technology & Business Change candidates from Venquis for many years and the service has always been of a very high level. Venquis has introduced us to some exceptional people. As a further indication of my overall satisfaction with Venquis I have recommended Venquis to various personal contacts who have always been delighted with their tailored approach and results.
Nadira Hussain, Acting Head of ITTower Hamlets
I found the Women in IT event extremely interesting and engaging and there were very relevant points raised and discussed, with an opportunity to share best practice to improve on the common issues we are all experiencing. Venquis did a particularly great job in getting an equal representation of male colleagues to be present, which offered the correct balance, a different point of view and to promote the actions that will help remove some of the challenges.
Emma Marinos, Director of ModerniseSouthwark Council
I found the Women in IT event extremely engaging and there were very relevant topics discussed. It was good to hear Phil Pavitt’s experiences around some key issues and also the approaches he has taken. For example; his comments around the language of text in job descriptions was of real benefit and something we will be acting on in our organization.
Power of the team
Today at 12:35 pm I completed my 27th 5K consecutive run that I started way back on November 6th, just as we were entering lockdown for the 2nd time. As a very casual runner who tried and failed to run 7 5K's back in the first lockdown, I signed up to this challenge with almost certainty that on the 9th or 10th day I'd drop out. Almost a month later, the challenge was completed. I've never felt fitter, I've had the best sleep of my life during this month, and most importantly, my mind has never felt clearer. So what changed, what made it happen? Simple: Teamwork Forget the new kit, advanced planned routes and the most obsessive relationship with Strava statistics and weather forecasts. The reason I made it and dare I say, almost enjoyed it at times was simply because of the team I am apart of. By roping in several friends, colleagues and randoms all across the country, even one person in Sydney, we created a crew with a mission. At each step of the way, they supported me. Even though they made fun out of my slow times, they encouraged me when my legs felt like jelly, celebrated with me as we chalked off run after run and also provided the competitive element that I needed to keep me moving forward. New personal best times being set by someone in the group came with an equal dose of praise and an internal reminder for me to up my game. Finally, the team became my focus that I didn't want to let down. Over a month (especially during lockdown) life can throw up plenty of hurdles and reasons why not to run that day, but the thought of the part I played in the team was always in the back of my mind and always came through loud and clear allowing me to find a way. Once the team was up and running (literally), I was never going to drop out, no matter how much I hated the thought of running. So, I didn't. Neither did the other 10 runners that made up the team. Everyone made it. Everyone set personal bests. Most importantly, everyone got to the finish line.

My journey back to Venquis
Back in 2011, I was one of the first employees at Venquis when we were just a start-up of 8 people in a small office. I had a brilliant couple of years specialising in Investment Management as a 360 consultant before deciding to move out to the UAE, where I continued to work in the financial services space for 6 years. Now I am back in the UK with my family and it is also exciting to be back at Venquis. All the growth and expansion that has happened over the past 7 years, Venquis looks like a completely different organisation to the start-up I knew back in 2011! Steve Garner, our MD kept in touch with me, and I am delighted to be working now as part of the Benelux Client Solutions Team in a client-facing role. Venquis has evolved into a digital business with a consultancy style set-up, and it’s this forward-thinking environment which is part of the reason I joined in the first place. It gives me the freedom to work exclusively on the business development side of recruitment, which is where my strengths are. The model of sales and delivery working closely together creates a collaborative environment and means I can pitch large scale complex solutions to clients, that I would not be able to manage as a 360 consultant. I have the opportunity to work from anywhere too, which is great as my clients are based mainly in the Netherlands, and it also gives me the flexibility to balance my family life. I’ve already been involved in external sales training which has been useful to implement into my business development, and I’m really excited about what the future holds for me here! Are you highly driven and want to play a huge role in a forward-thinking and exciting business? Join us today.
Venquis Rejuvenation Day
This year has been quite a year, throwing up a few unexpected challenges for us all. Back in March we found our lives changing literally overnight. Not least the way we worked, not having the freedom to see family and friends whenever we wanted and keeping our food cupboards stocked. Some of us found ourselves facing the challenge of being furloughed, many of us had to learn how to keep working closely with colleagues that were now only visible through a screen. All of us have had to learn to adapt. Our team at Venquis has been amazing, embracing the challenges thrown up and supporting each other through the tough parts. The Venquis culture has always been hugely important to our success and its strength has shone through when it has really counted. That resilience has produced some great successes and we have added new clients, new locations, and new colleagues over the last few months. There has been some fun along the way too – Joshua Djumpah’s bootcamp, Kirsty McIntyres’ virtual running club, and even managing an in-person Sports Day. We’ve always recognised the importance of our Fit for Work programme in keeping us physically and mentally healthy, but it’s been especially important this year and we’ll continue to find ways to keep us all healthy and strong over the winter months. In recognition of all that’s gone on this year and as a big ‘thank you’ for all the hard work that the team has put in, last Friday was our ‘Rejuvenation Day’. It was a chance for everyone to have a day off, relax and do something for themselves in readiness for a busy last quarter. We may still live in a world filled with uncertainty but one thing’s for sure, we will keep supporting each other at Venquis in whatever ways we can.
