About the job


CONSENSUS is working with Venquis to hire an experienced people leader for the development team in Copenhagen to run its development alongside their technical lead Anders Wiberg.

The development department currently consists of:

  • 1 tech lead
  • 3 product owners
  • 11 developers
  • 1 UI designer
  • 1 UX designer
  • 3 external developers (full time consultants)

Its people are split up in three SCRUM teams (two feature teams and one architecture/dev ops team) and one innovational unit. Each feature team and its innovational unit has a Product Owner. CONSENSUS is looking to employ approx. six more developers this year and a tester.

Are you someone with extensive experience leading multiple teams of developers, preferably with a background in software development? You are not expected to have current or deep experience with the technologies in CONSENSUS’s stack, but it’s important you have in-depth understanding of what it entails to run a development department.

Tasks needed help with


  • People leadership
    • 1:1 conversations
    • Creating development plans for people
    • Retention efforts (ensuring people are happy and feel constructive)
  • Improving collaboration and teamwork within the department
  • Planning regular department meetings
  • Monitoring and improving efficiency of the department
  • Budget responsibility for the department
  • Helping CONSENSUS identify which competencies it needs to hire (recruitment)
  • Help evaluate possibilities for outsourcing or outshoring development tasks
  • Pipeline planning and prioritization with Anders, the Partners, and the Product Owners
  • Obtain a good overview of how CONSENSUS do things today and implement initiatives that can further improve efficiency, employee retention and happiness
  • Understanding the business and strategic direction of the company and help bridge the business side with the development side of the organization
  • Team up with Anders and serve as a safeguard of the department towards the volatility of the business side of the organization
  • You would be part of the leadership team and included in strategic discussions on product strategy and direction as the business heads toward SAAS offerings
