Brexit: Who knows what will have happened by then?

Shivani Patel Alastair Campbell, Blog, Brexit...

22nd January 2019. 'Breakfast in the City' event series.

The guests  40 C-level executives of change and transformation within UK Financial Services.

The speaker  Alastair Campbell - writer, communicator and strategist best known for his role as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's spokesman, press secretary and director of communications and strategy.

The hosts  Venquis, business transformation and technology change recruitment specialists.

Is David Cameron to blame for the fine mess we find ourselves in? Is Theresa May up to the job? Why is Jeremy Corbyn refusing to play ball? Are we going to get the People’s vote, a general election or May’s deal over the line?

Even the loquacious, fast talking Mr Campbell didn’t try to predict the outcome of Brexit although he is heavily invested in the People’s vote. Potential longer term scenarios discussed were the break up of the UK with the unionification of Ireland and the independence of Scotland, a timely intervention by Trump and whether Norwegians have got it right. All in all the audience were captivated and if there were a few morning meetings missed Venquis is happy to take the blame.

Barnaby Parker, Venquis CEO, gave all guests a copy of Alastair's book 'Winners, and how they succeed.' Enjoy.

“Great breakfast event this morning – great insights and balanced opinion from Alastair Campbell – well done to Venquis on hosting." Ben Walder, Senior Programme Manager, First State Investments
