The client

Our client is a global integrated transport and logistics company employing approximately 90,000 employees across operations in 130 companies.

The challenge

Historically the client had outsourced its IT facility, however it had reached a point where the client wished to take back control of the IT environment as part of its vision to deliver a transformation from logistics to technology driven company. To do this the client needed to insource a large proportion of the IT landscape, rather than letting the capability reside with vendors.

The solution

We were given an exclusive partnership with the client to enable them to strategically manage the delivery of talent into their organisation. We put in place a flexible and scalable delivery solution and helped identify and resource the talent across the full tech stack from applications, infrastructure, security, architecture and transformation.

We embedded a full-time resource (at no extra cost) into the client’s HR function to support the recruitment, testing and on-boarding of candidates. In addition, we put in place a dedicated recruitment team solely focussed on the client.

This team was broken into a delivery team and research team. The delivery team was responsible for working closely with the client, writing job specs, processing CVs, arranging the interviews and dealing with the associated admin. The research team was responsible for gathering market intelligence and sourcing the best candidates in the market. They also created a market mapping document which was completed for every role serviced.

The solution was overseen by the Venquis Project Director who was the main point of contact for the client, conducting regular meetings, service reviews and performance reviews to ensure that the client received the best possible service.


To date we have achieved the following:

  • Currently no.1 IT supplier globally for contract and permanent resources, a testament to our knowledge of the culture and understanding of the business
  • 70+ hires made
  • Helped build the Commercial IT team from scratch, making 15 placements
  • Helped build the Service Management team, making 14 placements
  • To date 43% of our placements with the client has been female, which is a significant achievement in an industry traditionally dominated by men
